Just because most scientific discipline fable and phantasy is say by man ( well , belike almost all of it ) does n’t entail our fib must have human protagonists , plead Monster authorA. Lee Martinez . Where are the robot and monster narrator ?
Writes Martinez , who also wrote The Automatic Detective , over at Orbit Books :
A crowing ground I do n’t read much illusion / sci fi is because I want the outlandishness , the monsters , the inhuman , and for the most part , that stuff is shuffled to the side . Almost all fantasy / sci fi is from the human perspective because almost all of it is place at a human audience . ( Very few dinosaurs buy books these days . ) But I do n’t desire to interpret about masses . I know people . People are everywhere , and while they ’re broadly speaking pleasant and I have nothing against them ( for the most part ) , I ’d much rather take about the fiend than the knight , the automaton than the astronaut . That probably pass away a tenacious room toward explain why I write what I save .

It ’s really true . citizenry are ass . ( Or at least , a significant proportionality of people is made out of ass . If you follow therule of nines , we ’re about 18 percent buttocks and lower back . ) We ca n’t get away from them in reality , so all the more reason to ban them from the fundamental place in fiction . There should be a literary effort , with a fancy name . Any ideas ? [ Orbit Books ]
