Aside from Manhattan ’s sprawling Central Park , it ’s not always light to find some pleasant green distance — which is what makes Lincoln Center’snew rooftop lawnsuch a terrific idea . A grassy hill in a busybodied urban centre — the perfect via media .
The task , dub the Hypar Pavilion , adds 7,200 square foot of gently sloping grass ( and a restaurant at a lower place ) in the midst of all that concrete , providing something clearly beautiful to look at and sit on . Is it importantly different than sitting down at pretty much any other park ? Not really , no — grass is pot . But to have some green real estate to load out on rather of a city bench is a wonderful use of blank space — to say nothing of how amazing it looks from above . [ DesignBoom ]
