lead part in a webchat with reader of British newspaper the Guardian , JJ Abrams spill the beans about everything : The future of Fringe , why he ’s rebooting Star Trek and what has changed about the end of Lost . He even tint on the possibility of a subsequence to this twelvemonth ’s Cloverfield . We have the highlights of the New World chat for those of you who get worried by the idea of being in a chatroom with guy call thing like “ djbollocks . ”On Fringe :
We have a large picture which we are working to . We have a six chapter idea . That inevitably shift along the means . You make discoveries which you ca n’t foresee … We are still find our calendar method . If you look back at the early sequence of your favourite shows you will discover they are a picayune bite to the left of what the show ultimately became . I sense we are still get . The fourth episode , “ The Arrival , ” is penny-pinching to what the show will be … [ E]pisode 4 begins it , the over - arcing enigma of the show . The end is to do both – to tune in and love without sleep together anything that come before it but also if you watch every calendar week you will see things you sympathize and that are link to the prominent picture .
On Star Trek :

[ What interested me about the project ] was the opportunity to tell a story that was based on a world and fictitious character that I feel were just compelling and optimistic and the opportunity to treat that universe with a form of vigor and hullabaloo and the resources we had . It did n’t feel like a authoritative reboot or prequel . It is a brand unexampled thing inhale by characters that are balance to make a heavy comeback .
On Lost :
We had a mickle of possibleness as to where the show would go . The truth is , I have n’t been run it since i went off to do mile : III . The evolution of what the show has become now is something that we could never have completely planned out . Like any great showrunner , Damon Lindelof has been critical as he has become flexible . As to what the ultimate resolution is , there is just a vague resemblance to what we determine when we first started doing the show … There are some constituent close to what Damon and I discussed when we first discussed it . Damon has taken it in a far more sophisticated and interesting direction because he has had to . Damon has brilliantly expanded upon that and created an amazing narrative for that . The only matter I regret is that i have ADD and I have been so busy with other thing that I miss being there full meter . I lose hanging out with Damon . I miss the actors with whom I had such an incredible time on the pilot film . If I have any feelings about the show it is superbia and amazement in what Damon has done .

On Cloverfield 2 :
There is an idea that we are work on that I desire will come to realisation . We are play with it justly now . Obviously we do n’t want to commit to something we do n’t love and find urge by but we have a pretty cool idea we are bring with .
