In 2021, Andrews wrote about her fertility struggles in a personal essay for Facebook Bulletin. The sportscaster revealed that she was undergoing IVF treatment for the seventh time, calling it a “time-consuming and emotionally draining process” that left her feeling “so stressed out.”

“I have been trying to do IVF treatment for a while now, but sometimes it doesn’t go the way you want it. Your body just doesn’t allow it,” she wrote, adding that she wanted to “be vocal and honest” about her story.

“Now that it’s my seventh time, something just hit me. Why am I keeping this such a secret when this is just a part of our lives?” Andrews continued. “Instead of feeling ashamed, we need to give ourselves more love.”

She added that although it felt like a “lonely” experience, “so many” people were going through it and she was inspired to talk more about the process.
