Amazon Web Services ( AWS ) , the entanglement - hosting religious service that powers , well , most everything online suffered its third outage this month on Wednesday morning , fetch giant chunks of the web crash down with it . Services likeCoinbase , Slack , and theEpic Games storehave all had exploiter written report pouring in since roughly 7 am ET , according toDownDetector , which records exploiter account of outages .
accord to theAWS status page , these issues could be tied back to a single data center in West Virginia that lost business leader in the bitty hour of the morning . The troupe confirmed that one of its data centers within the “ undivided Availability Zone ” lost great power at 7:01 am this morning , though it says that the outcome seems to be conclude as of about half an 60 minutes after .
That suppose , do n’t be surprised if your avail of selection is n’t back at 100 % just yet . “ While all service are starting to see meaningful recovery , services which were hosting end point within the unnatural data center — such as single - AZ RDS databases , ElastiCache , etc.—would have seen impact during the event , but are starting to see recovery now , ” the varlet show . Then , in the middle of this month , AWS sufferedanother outage , this time due to an unnamed “ internet connectivity ” event .
While time around , AWS did break that a departure of force was the perpetrator , it ’s still a frustrating reminder of what can befall when a single company hold in a monumental amount of our tech base .
