It ’s been three month sinceAMD and ATI made the cruddy , and what do they have to show for it besides a large passel and the broken hearts of nVidia and Intel ? Something called the “ Fusion ” , a CPU / GPU hybrid chip .

Thanks to their respective expertise , ATI and AMD can get together and make a CPU that ’s up to of manage many GPU tasks . or else of unload graphical map to the posting , which then has to be piped back to the CPU for extra computation , many thing can be done “ in house ” , saving time and spend a penny your apps quicker . These Fusion CPU / GPUs are n’t going to be uncommitted until tardy 2008 / early 2009 , so whatever you purchase now should be safe from obsolescence until then .
