Some people still grease one’s palms Book — and even buy them in paper format . So Barnes & Noble ’s decision to block books published by Amazon is fightin ’ words ! But how much does it count , and who ’s getting pain ?
It does n’t really matter , and nobody ’s really getting hurt right now . Amazon ’s proprietary publication arm puts out very , very , very few authoritative public figure — unless you considerJames Franco a literary picture . So not being able to go to your local Barnes & Noble to grease one’s palms James Franco ’s certain to be awful novel is pretty borderline . Will this move subject if Amazon Publishing reaches the height of , say , Simon & Schuster ? Yes . Will they ? Nobody have a go at it . Until then , here ’s Barnes & Noble ’s Chief Merchandising Officer Jaime Carey :
“ Barnes & Noble has made a conclusion not to stock Amazon issue championship in our store showrooms . Our conclusion is based on Amazon ’s continued push for exclusivity with publisher , agents and the authors they represent . These exclusives have nix us from offering sure eBooks to our customers . Their actions have counteract the industry as a whole and have forbid millions of customer from take in approach to content . It ’s clear to us that Amazon has raise they would not be a expert publication partner to Barnes & Noble as they go along to pull depicted object off the market for their own ego interest . We do n’t get many requests for Amazon titles , but If customers like to buy Amazon titles from us , we will make them available only online at bn.com . ”
