Earlier this month, Cardi also set the record straight about theunapologetically sexy “Twerk” music video, which she recently dropped with City Girls, after a Twitter user suggested that her new song and video was sending the wrong message.
Theall-women videofeatures the rappers and back-up dancers grinding on each other — sometimes on poles — in their bathing suits and animal-print bodysuits.
In the original tweet, Stephanie Hamill, a host and contributor for Fox 5 DC, questioned how “Twerk” empowered women amid the#MeToo eraand encouraged liberals, including the rapper, to weigh in.
“It says to women that I can wear and not wear whatever I want. do w.e I want and thatNO still means NO,” Cardi explained. “So Stephanie chime in..If I twerk and be half naked does that mean I deserve to get raped and molested? I want to know what a conservative woman like you thinks.”
