China’s ping-pong robots serve, volley, silently pray for death

Roboticists at China ’s Zhejiang University have build up a duo of vacuous - faced machines named Kong and Wu whose programing and manual dexterity make them redoubtable ping - niff participant . The 5’3″ robots use cameras to cut across the Lucille Ball and can declare their own against human opponents .

I do n’t eff about you , but I ’d lose my lust for competition play against these machines . Their emotionless visages wander an inner digital sorrowfulness . It ’s as if their robotic brethren were all assigned to satellites and deep - ocean submersibles , but Kong and Wu were condemned to the rec room .
