On Tuesday, the former Food Network star shared an adorable video of herboyfriend of more than seven years, Shane Farley, and daughter, Jade, as they cooked up a Valentine’s Day dish for the Italian chef.
“Best Vday surprise ever!” De Laurentiis captioned her Instagram post.
In the fullYouTubevideo on her lifestyle brandGiadzy’s channel, Farley and Jade, 15, who is De Laurentiis' only child with exTodd Thompson, chronicled their time in the kitchen making cacio e pepe.
“Do you remember the first bolognese I made you?” Farley asked Jade at the start of the clip.
“The first bolognese was mind-blowing. I was like, ‘Who is this man?’” responded Jade, who was a third grader at the time. “My mom didn’t believe that he made it. She was like ‘This is impossible.’”

After their silly story, the pair got into the nitty gritty of making cacio e pepe. “It’s nearing Valentine’s Day, so we thought we would make a dish for somebody who cooks for us all the time,” Farley said.
As they boiled water for pasta and grated cheese, they both discussed who does most of the dishes around the house. “I don’t always,” Jade admitted. Farley poked fun at her, saying, “Do you think sometimes you eat and then you just get up and go to your room on your phone?” After some playful banter, Jade pleaded her case. “Sometimes I actually do help. I’m not like a fully terrible person,” she quipped.
When they finished up some meal prep, Farley suggested they quickly stop to get some wine. “Can I drive?” Jade asked as Farley seemed mildly in shock.
Jade drove a convertible and admitted she was “scared” to take the wheel since she’s only had her permit since October. Farley reassured her that she was doing a good job as she zoomed to the store.
“Can’t believe Jade is already driving 🤪,” Giada also added in the caption of the video.
When the dynamic duo got back to the De Laurentiis kitchen, Farley said with a laugh, “I’m not going to lie, Jade, that was a little bit scary.”
Their sauce slowly started to come together, and then it was time to surprise De Laurentiis with the special meal. “What’s happening here?” the chef said as she found her boyfriend and daughter standing over a bowl of pasta. “It looks beautiful!”
“Happy Valentine’s Day from Jade and myself,” Farley said.
The Giadzy founder was initially slightly skeptical of the dish. “It looks like cacio e pepe. It smells like cacio e pepe, but is it cacio e pepe?” she asked. Luckily, she gave a glowing review after one bite. “It’s very good,” she said.
“I knew it!” Farley said as he high-fived Jade.
“And it has a lot of pepper in it,” De Laurentiis added as a compliment since the pair used herGiadzy kit, which includes pepper-infused oil.
As she enjoyed her bowl of pasta, De Laurentiis joked, “Shane and Jade cook twice a year: Valentine’s Day and my birthday. Every other day…” she said and pointed to herself.
