Heidi Klumdoesn’t mess around when it comes toHalloween.
While some may know the supermodel’s iconic Halloween party for herworm costumethat went viral last year, Klum’s history of Halloween fun goes back to 2000.
While onthe set of her cover shoot for People StyleWatch, the supermodel walked through her best Halloween looks throughout the years. From dressing up as “just Heidi” in a leather dirndl to showing up with an army of clones, Klum shares the stories behind her famed looks.
“I always try to find things that people naturally wouldn’t do,” Klum said. “Most people do nurses or police officers, but I was always looking for something that I hadn’t seen.”

Back then, Klum says she did her hair and makeup herself. In the years since, Klum’s preparation has only intensified. She has hired special effects professionals and makeup artists, and she’s made some pretty grand entrances (think: supermodel arriving in a spaceship, flying over a crowd on a broomstick, even being wheeled in on a gurney).
Six years after Klum’s relatively low-maintenance Heidi costume, she arrived nine months pregnant as the forbidden fruit, withthen-husbandSealdressed up as Eve. Klum hand-painted her face green, adding snake-print details around her eyes, and even did Seal’s makeup!

From then on, Klum’s costumes got more and more over the top.
In 2010, Klum had to learn to walk on stilts for her robot costume, which she said made her “larger than life.” While Klum says the costume started off “amazing,” after a few drinks, her party guests had to hold up the super-tall-supermodel.

“It was so morbid,” Klum commented.

One of Klum’s favorites was her 2013 costume. In celebration of her turning 40, the supermodel transformed into an elderly woman.
The costume was partly in response to people asking Klum if she still wanted to model at 40, seemingly questioning whether she thought she was too old to continue her career.

“I thought, yeah, 40… that’s old. Old… I wanna be old!” Klum recalls. She was no ordinary 90-year-old, though. Dolled up in a vintage Chanel dress and flats, Klum calls herself a “chic old lady.”
“And then I wanted to be the biggest sex symbol on the planet,” Klum says of her 2015 Halloween look. Covered in prosthetics, from her eyelids to her bust, Klum transformed into Jessica Rabbit.

As for what’s coming this year, Klum hints that her costume is something big, and she’s not entertaining a Plan B: “My goal is to not let any of my Halloween fans down.”
